Actors Jumping Into Web Video

Daisy Whitney points out that actors are starting to migrate to the web and build brands outside of traditional media (TV and movies). This is something to watch out for as actors are now starting to understand that the web is not just becoming another distribution medium, but is evolving as an interactive business platform.

Tom Green has his own web TV show, as does Dave Navarro with Spread TV. And who could forget Will Ferrell's infamous landlord video on his FunnyOrDie video sharing site, which has attracted nearly 60 million views worldwide.

I'm not saying that a lot of actors will completely abandon their traditional media presences, but as web video gains in popularity, and advertising dollars shift more and more online, actors are just part of the early crowd we will see jumping on the bandwagon.
